thumbnail Item PS1 - SIDERITE - Crabtree Quarry, Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina; (thumbnail) a fine example of the rhombohedral, olive-green siderites from the Crabtree. This specimen also has minor associations of calcite and albite. Condition is very good. $29.
thumbnail Item PS2 - QUARTZ with Mud inclusions - US 64 Bypass, Hiddenite, Alexander County, North Carolina; a nice grouping of the typical "odd-shaped" quartz crystals from Hiddenite, with many being doubly-terminated, and hundreds of crystal faces. This piece was collected in May of 1992, when the Rt 64 bypass was being dug up right next to the emerald areas in Hiddenite (it was a truly wonderful experience to collect there during this time!). This specimen was collected by Russ Holshouser, and from his (self-named) Russ' Pocket. Dimensions are 2 3/4" x 1 1/8" x 2 1/2", and specimen is in fine condition (crystallized on all sides!). $130.
thumbnail Item PS3 - CAVANSITE on STILBITE- Pune, India; sprays of deep aqua-blue cavansite are sharply contrasted against the snow-white "bow-tie" crystals of stilbite. Kenny Gay purchased this (from Mineral Kingdom, in April 1989 for $400. This label comes with piece), back when these were really hitting the market (hard to believe that the relative "flooding" of Indian pieces has actually meant that this is now LESS expensive than it was then!). Dimensions are 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" x 1 1/4", and condition is fine. $100.
thumbnail Item PS4 - PYRITE and QUARTZ - Spruce Claim, King County, Washington; a well-formed, 1 1/4" x 3/4" x 1", elongated pyrite cube has clear, terminated quartz crystals growing on it. This is typical of the Spruce Claim pyrites (MANY of them were on the market in the 1980's; some really classic pieces!). Condition is very good. A Kenny Gay specimen, which he obtained from M. Phantom Minerals at the show in Hickory, NC, in March of 1987 for $70. $105.
thumbnail Item PS5 - BRUCEITE - Killa Saifullah, Balochistan, Pakistan; a fine bruceite, with the botryoidal look, deep lemon-yellow color, and nice translucency. Dimensions are 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" X 1/2", and specimen has gone from the collection of Miguel David Martinez to Fabre Minerals to Kenny Gay (and on to me). Previous labels are included. $245.
thumbnail Item PS6 - Petrified PINE CONE - Patagonia, Argentina; a good sample of the silicified seed cone of a 120 million year old Araucaria (Miribilis) tree. Dimensions are 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 1", and condition is very good. $75.
thumbnail Item PS7 - SPODUMENE - Foote Mine, Cleveland County, North Carolina; a thick, prismatic, terminated spodumene crystal from the classic Foote locality. Crystal is 2 1/4" high and 1" wide. Condition is good. $55.

thumbnail Item PS16 - PYRITE and MUSCOVITE MICA - *North American Emerald Mine*, Hiddenite, Alexander County, North Carolina; (I've note this location as NAEM because it was the same property that Jamie was working until recently, and Kenny's label specifies this. It could just as easily be labeled Rist, but it was found before that). Kenny Gay purchased this from Terry Ledford in December of 2011, and it came with a "Colonel J. H. Pratt" collection label. It's a 3 1/2" x 1 3/4" x 2 1/4" "ball" of small, crystallized pyrite with muscovite mica protruding from it in various spots. Definitely a classic piece. Condition is good. $200.

thumbnail Item PS26 - SMOKY QUARTZ - Beckley, West Virginia; an odd-shaped quartz growth, with light clay inclusions as was common in pieces from this location (I traded for one maybe 30 years ago for myself). This specimen measures roughly 1 1/2" x 1" x 1", and the crystal is quite transparant, has deep smoky "wisps" throughout, and minor etching to some faces. Condition is good. thumbnail Item PS31 - ACTINOLITE in QUARTZ - Pleasant Hill, Alamance County, North Carolina; (thumbnail) a beautifully clear, "wide", terminated quartz crystal has noticeable green actinolite needles running up from it's base. I had purchased one of these many years back from the late Jerry Hill, and they're quite nice. Condition is fine. $35.
thumbnail Item PS32 - TURGITE - Graves Mountain, Lincoln County, Georgia; a fist-sized specimen of this colorful hematite, exhibiting various shades of green, blue and gold. Dimensions are 4" x 3 1/2" x 2 1/2", and color extends all the way around the specimen. Condition is very good. $95.
